Polynesian Art with Teia Teaue
Discover Polynesian Art at The Farm with Teia Teaue, Bora Bora’s own native artist.
A graduate of the island’s School of Arts and Crafts, Teia’s skills are many.
He paints, sculpts, engraves or carves pendants out coral,
bone, stone or wood. He paints on anything he can find, shells, roots, driftwood, tapa, stones...
Naturally discreet, he finds his gateway to the world by integrating primitive motives from Africa to
Papua-New Guinea, with those of his Maohi ancestors. Even Egyptian hieroglyphs or Hebrew texts find
sometimes their way into Teia’s compositions. His creations are of all sizes, sometimes huge and impressive,
as the two tiki that one can admire in the gardens of Bora Pearl Company. |
